I like the idea of getting a little real with you from time to time—a “Moment of Truth,” if you will. So, cheers to sharing my first one with you.
Can I be a little harsh for a moment?
Get out of the way of your brand.
You may think that you’re totally right about the tactics you’re using to market to your ideal customer. However, if you’re not seeing results through sales or engagement, they really aren’t working.
So my advice to you is…Stop getting in the way of your brand.
Ultimately, stop blocking the success of your business.
If this article’s headline caught your attention, that must mean you are wondering if you are indeed getting in the way of your brand’s growth. So, allow me to provide some examples.
For instance, you may be frustrated that you’ve tried certain marketing tactics that haven’t produced the results you want.
Or, you haven’t given some tactics enough time to deliver results.
Perhaps you may be convinced that there’s only one way or a few tried and true ways to do things, but if you’re not seeing growth, the positive results aren’t truly there.
That’s getting in the way of your brand’s growth potential.
I have seen these scenarios over and over again throughout my career, and this is a little of what I have learned:
Do I know you? This is the question you should ask every ideal client. Do you know what interests them? Do you know the problems that must be addressed, and can you provide a solution? If you haven’t asked these questions, you should start. Think of it this way - everyone is a potential customer, but realistically, you need to focus on the ideal client to be productive and successful. Not sure who your ideal customer is? We should definitely chat.
Impatience will not grow a successful business. Have you ever heard of the Rule of 7? While not an exact science, marketers have learned that a potential new client/customer needs to see a brand at least seven times before making a purchase decision. So, realistically, you have to be patient with your tactics.
The only constant is change. You know this. You really do. It’s why you constantly evaluate the cost of your goods or services. It’s why brands redesign their packaging or why social media platforms and businesses latch onto direct-to-consumer sales. You must continually assess what marketing is effective for your business as well as the businesses and industries around you.

So, no matter where you are with these scenarios, it’s likely time to explore other options.
You know you have an excellent product or service for an ideal client. You just need to get out of the way of your brand and find the best way to engage with them.
Let’s quickly evaluate where you are and then focus on exploring options to grab the attention of your ideal client. Because let’s be honest, if they’re not knocking down your doors, you’re not reaching them.
So, that’s my first Moment of Truth: Stop getting in the way of your brand so you can grow! Your perfect client is waiting.
Now, let’s get to work!
Till next time -
Bridgette
